Drum Roll Please...

As promised my one month progress report is in

In one month on keto I have lost:

My cravings for sugar
My cravings for carbs
13 pounds
13 inches

NSV:

Hubby says my butt cheeks are smaller
I have tons of energy
I cook everyday
I am never hungry
My skin is finally clearing up
I think my hair has grown two inches
Stopped needing heartburn medicine

You Deserve a Home Cooked Meal

One of the best things about the Ketogenic diet is that when you are forced to eat clean you are forced to cook!  Now don't get me wrong; I don't always want to cook, sometimes I'm tired or just plain not hungry!  However; all this clean eating has changed my outlook!  Even if I don't feel like cooking a meal, I need to!  My daughters and my hubby deserve a home cooked meal!  They work hard all day concurring their busy schedules, tests, homework, etc and when they get home they deserve a home cooked meal.  Now that I am on this diet every night they have a choice to eat clean, healthy cuts of meat and veggies every day!  I am not saying they don't make poor food choices when they are out of the house, but at least they are getting one healthy home cooked meal every night.

Monday will be one month on keto for me!  I will be posting about all the positive changes, inches lost, pounds lost and NSV!

24 Days Without You..

Sunday marked 24 days on a Ketogenic Diet.  24 days without any sugar.  24 days without and bites or tastes of anything that was not in my plan. 24 days without cravings!  Sunday was also my hubby's Birthday.  Which means Ice cream cake at my house.  One little, tiny, half a stinking slice of Ice cream cake later and this girl spends the next two days fighting cravings for all things bad!  One little bite of frosting off Lily's plate wont matter, oh it's just a little whipped cream, Damn those potatoes look good!  One little slip off the plan and I can't even get carbs and sugar out of my head!  So all I can say is Sugar; you are a hideous beast! 

Now I won't let this mistake rule my life, like I would have in the past.  I would have thrown in the towel and let one little slip turn into a whole day, week, month, hell maybe a year of giving up on myself! That won't happen this time, because being on the ketogenic diet has been the best eating experience I have ever had.  I have spent years thinking about food constantly, making excuses for my food choices.  When you finish cleaning the kitchen you can have the chocolate bar, it's going to be a long day at work you should bring in donuts and order Chinese take out, that was so good I need seconds etc.  But since I have changed my way of eating to LCHF I no longer think about food constantly.  I have even forgotten to eat until late in the afternoon (several times) because I am simply not hungry!  Any way of eating that can make me forget to eat is amazing! 

So far in 24 days; even with the little, tiny, half a slice of the hideous beast; I have lost 12 pounds, my hubby says my butt cheeks are smaller, and I have tons of energy!
